Earn while you learn. The West Texas Electrical JATC offers a four year apprenticeship program registered with the Department of Labor, and is dedicated to helping men and women pursue their desire to become a licensed journeyman wireman.
We train our apprentices through 8,000 hours of paid on-the-job training in addition to 900 hours of in class training over four years.
Benefits of the program include excellent starting wages with frequent and substantial pay increases, medical benefits for the apprentice and his or her family, and several retirement plans.
The West Texas JATC is affiliated with IBEW Local 602 and the West Texas Chapter of NECA.
The IBEW was established in 1891 and for over one hundred years has worked to establish increasing improvements in the standard of living for its members.
NECA was established in 1901 and works to advance the industry through advocacy, education, research, and standards of development.
